All Done!
The Hull is Painted!
This is definitely a banner day. Today, we rolled on the second coat of topside paint. She's quite white now. Not perfect, but plenty good for our needs.
Just finished. . . . masking tape still on. . . .
Tape off. . . . all done. . . .
The paint should be left to cure for about a week.
Our next task is to get the old girl back on her keel again. In the near future, we'll be reassembling the 'turning cradle' around her.
Stay Tuned . . . . . .

Wooden Boat
On our morning walk Saturday, we saw this magnificent wooden sailboat leaving Tunnel Bay Harbour.
I don't know anything about the boat, but I can guess.
I guess she was built before 1969, which makes her at least 50 and maybe much older.
I guess, by her fine condition, that she has been restored.
I guess, by her beauty and her brand new sails, that she is well loved.
I guess, by the tiny outboard, that she's an easily driven hull.
I don't have to guess that she sails well, Donna and I saw her go.
I could not guess at the enormity of the task of keeping a wooden sailboat 'ship-shape'.

Marylin May in the Slings
Keith and Vicki had their boat hauled out today. She's a Vancouver 25, a wonderful cruising sailboat, and she's just gorgeous. Nice to have friends keeping their boat at Iroquois. We'll be seeing them around the boatyard.
