Applebee 27 - Dinghy Work
April 9, 2023 Happy Easter!
Mom's Move:
The photographer went on Friday and got photos of the house. Yesterday, the realtor came by and got room measurements. The house will soon be on the market.
Boat Work:
Yesterday was cool but bright and sunny. We brought the dinghy into the garage and I painted the interior with the same enamel primer as I had painted on the exterior.
She's a bit rough but the further back you stand, the nicer she looks. Being a uniform colour helps.
The paint didn't completely dry overnight but by late morning, it had dried enough that we could turn it over to work on the exterior again.
I sanded the exterior and wiped it clean. Then I applied a coat of topside paint. I used a can of paint leftover from the boat build. It is 'Interlux Brightside Polyurethane' in Hatteras Off White. We used it for the stern lockers on the trawler. It's high gloss so it shows every little flaw in the construction quite well. Who cares? As long as she floats!
We stayed around town this Easter weekend because I was duty officer at the club from 4pm Friday to 4pm today.
Bryne came by to see the dinghy yesterday and he invited us over for lunch today. It was a delicious turkey and ham meal with all the trimmings and oodles of appetizers and desserts.
It was a pleasure to meet members of Annie's immediate family. We brought the instruments (at Bryne's request) and played a few songs for the group.
Thank you Bryne and Annie!
