When we got word that Donna's Mom had taken a turn for the worse, we left (on Monday) and drove out to Moncton, stopping at a motel half way there. On Tuesday we arrived and visited Mrs. B. in hospital. Donna and her sister (Barb) stayed the night with her. The following day (Wednesday, March 29th) she passed away peacefully around suppertime with one of her daughters (Chris) by her side.
Mrs. Bowden lived a full life and passed away approaching the age of 96. She was well loved by all her family, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was very strong and retained all her faculties and sense of humour even in hospital with her organs shutting down.
Barb will try to stream Monday's funeral service for those who are unable to attend in person. Interment will be at a later date.
After stopping again for the night half way home, we arrived back yesterday.
It's hard to lose a loved one. We'll miss our regular visits to New Brunswick for her birthday and Donna will find it tough to wave at the Brockville webcam knowing Mom is no longer waving back from Moncton.
Rest in Peace, Mrs. Bowden.
