Building an Outboard Trawler - We Did It! -
Saturday, August 14th. We did it! We installed the toe rails and we finished all the nonskid on the deck.
First we attached the toe rails with screws and Sikaflex adhesive calking.
Looks pretty good.
And to think, when Mike and Noreen arrived, the toe rails were hiding inside an intact eight foot length of white oak 2" X 4".
Then we taped off the foredeck into several sections in preparation for the nonskid.
After sanding all the areas and cleaning up, we applied the nonskid.
That looks pretty good too.
Hey! Should you be standing on the top of that ladder?
A wide angle lens on Mike's camera produced this cool shot. . . .
Now, with hand rails and toe rails installed and nonskid applied, if you fall off the boat, it's your own fault.
Many thanks to Mike and Noreen for spending another week with us and helping on the project.
