Our Custom Trawler - Sept 25th -
The weather today would not have been better had I been able to order it myself. The best thing about it. . . .no wind.
Donna stayed home to catch up on a few things around the house and I went to the marina to take the boat out one last time.
It went well. I took her through the channel and headed upriver toward Johnstown.
I got her up to 4900 RPM. It's still not 'WOT' (wide open throttle) but close. She hums.
I turned around and headed back. This view is through the little back window of the pilothouse. Even when moving right along, she doesn't leave much of a wake.
I anchored behind Toussaint Island and had my coffee break.
Out the cabin window, I could see that big old stone house along highway 2.
I got back to the dock for lunch. Then I did some work on the wiring. I connected some panel wires to the terminal block and ran a wire from the electrical panel voltmeter to the starting battery. I tested the voltage of the starting battery and found it to be fully charged, indicating that the engine alternator has been doing its job. Yay!
While I sat on the port side settee working on the panel, my eyes were drawn to the image in the photo below. It is more than a picture. With the cabin door, cockpit seat, stern locker and port-side stern cleat all surrounding a view of the little bay, shoreline and sky, it is a testament to our successful project.
How lucky we are!
