Boat Work:
I've been working on the galley cabinet 'cubby'. After installing permanent cleats inside the cabinet, I cut out the 'removable' panels and attached cleats where needed.
I brushed a couple of coats of paint onto the 'inside' areas.
The base is installed with 3 screws, two at the front and one at the back.
The other panels were installed with 3 screws each.
It's a good-sized cubby space and the panels are easily removed if ever we need access to the plumbing in that area.
. . . . .
I was doubtful about being able to install the windshield wipers but yesterday, I figured out a way (involving the addition of 3 washers under each 'knuckle' and bending the wiper arms slightly inward).
We may never use them but. . . . they're there.
They are manually-operated using a small handle on the inside (over the windows).
Small steps toward the finish line. . . . .
We are fortunate to have Mom staying with us for a couple of weeks. She arrived Thursday and we've been enjoying her company. It's so nice to have her around. Since Dad passed away (2019) I had been calling her every evening, mainly to keep her from feeling alone. That's no longer happening because she's now living with my sister and her husband. Like me, Mom has a glass of wine every day so, for the next little while, 'wine time' will be a shared experience.
Well, what do you know? I think that clock is calling me now. . . .
