Yeah, I know eh?

June 2nd, 1979

It was a beautiful, warm and sunny day.

Boat Work:

Yesterday was a washout. Rained pretty much all day. So I worked in the garage, cleaning up the mess we left when we brought everything back from the boat-building site. We got most of it cleaned up but there's more to do.

Today, the forecast was for overcast skies, cool temperatures, fog and very little wind. Now if that doesn't sound like the perfect day for a little pilothouse trawler. . . .

We picked up some eats at Metro and headed over to Smith's Island for lunch. Didn't get much work done but any day we can take the boat out is a good day.

The fog and mist got heavier as we headed back to the harbour.

We heard a freighter go by as we were leaving the island so we lit up the nav lights and pulled into the channel behind it. We quickly lost it in the fog. It's somewhere just ahead.

Donna stood watch and got a bit wet. . . . uh, okay, soaked!

It's provincial election day so we docked the boat, closed her up, drove home, dried off and walked over to the polling station.

Now it's break time and before you know it, it'll be wine time!

What a life!
